ARTicipate was created forty years ago by one artist, Joani Share, to encourage people to not only look at art but to participate and physically connect to art — making the art interactive and playable. Originally the touchable art created by ARTicipate was developed to make pediatric hospital waiting rooms more comfortable for children and families in stressful situations. ARTicipate artwork was then also designed for other public places such as restaurants, and for private spaces such as homes and offices, to make art truly accessible and tactile, and not just visual.
ARTicipate has now evolved, and while the concept remains —connecting people to art in meaningful ways — ARTicipate for Humanity is no longer the work of one artist, but rather a way that many may artfully participate with organizations that need and deserve support.
You can ARTicipate by using your skills, interests, and talents to create art to support a variety of issues and causes identified by ARTicipate, or if you can’t create you can simply donate to these organizations. ARTicipate in any way that you can. Together we can build a better humanity through articipation.
