You can get involved in a variety of ways like making a quilt block, teaching a textile skill, or donating or creating a sponsorship.
Knots of Love’s mission is to warm the hearts and heads of those experiencing traumatic hair loss. Volunteers lovingly hand-knit and crochet caps for those struggling with treatment-induced hair loss and tiny Neonatal blankets for fragile new lives in incubators. Knots of Love caps and blankets are distributed free of charge and serve as a constant reminder to the patient and their loved ones that they are not alone.
Dolls of Hope strives to bring hope and joy to children one doll and bear at a time. They believe that every child deserves to have a toy to cherish. Stuffed toys bring much hope, joy and comfort to children, especially children in crisis and children who have nothing.
Ryan’s Case for Smiles sends cheerful pillowcases to kids undergoing treatment for serious diseases. The goal is to complete a minimum of 44,000 pillowcases, one for each child in treatment for cancer. You can help by sewing cheery pillowcases for hospitalized children.
Comfort for Critters is a volunteer program that donates free handmade blankets to comfort homeless pets living in animal shelters across the US. They support over 300 shelters, which are in every US state! They are always in need of supplies, and more crafters.
Quilts for Kids is dedicated to transforming fabrics into patchwork quilts to comfort children facing serious illness, trauma, abuse, and natural disasters. Their goal is to provide comfort to children in need through the gift of a handmade patchwork quilt. This lessens the suffering of children by showing them that they are loved.
Capes for Kids is a simple, yet life-changing program where volunteers make capes for kids in shelters to show them that putting on a superhero cape is not about calling on a “superboy” or “supergirl” to swoop in. It’s about calling on their own inner strength to have the power to get through the daily challenges of life.
Potters for Peace relies upon community-oriented planning and community-involved action to provide a clay-based solution to the global struggle for clean drinking water by facilitating and building water filter factories in communities throughout the world in keeping with the belief that clean water is a human right.
Through innovation, education, and advocacy, The Pad Project aims to help move towards a world where menstruators feel empowered in their bodies, achieve economic independence, understand their reproductive and sexual health options, and harness the power to shape their lives.
